Images in the Air; Mom & Me, Me & Noa
Israel, 1996
To stimulate the consideration of memory and place, this award-winning installation placed images of Eisenbach, her infant, and her parents in the public realm so that they might be seen together by others. A set of family snapshots from her childhood combined with black and white Polaroids was the inspiration for her to recreate these moments 35 years later with her infant child.
Translucent fabric panels printed with these photos were installed on King David Boulevard in Tel Aviv, where Eisenbach lived with her parents when she was first born. Installed back-to-back, the past and present images combined with wind, sunlight, trees, buildings, the street and passersby to create a multi-layered sensory experience for the viewer.
